Water Crisis every year at My place – Bhopal

I live in Bhopal.Bhopal is a city in central india with a population of 1.8 million.Bhopal is famous for its many lakes. It is also known as city of lakes.
Every summer,we face acute water shortage. The city municipal corporation which is responsible for providing water to the town, is not able to manage the water requirements.Every year when it rains the city administration plans ways to conserve water.water retention tactics are applied, but all the measures are on paper only and not implemented properly.
Rainfall is uneven.whenever it rains it rains heavily.Water retention cannot take place.Due to plastic pollution, the water retention of soil has eroded.around half a million trees were cutted by the state government in last 5 years. This was done in the name of development to make way for roads, build new infrastructure. Those opposing were called anti development.
As a result of this massive tree cutting, the whole ecological balance of the city has changed.Environmental groups are trying to stop all this and to find a sustainable solution. The real problem lies with the common people, who are least concerned about climate change.Mostly are not aware or care least about cutting of trees. They elect people who have no concern for environment.Corruption is rampant in administration.
The only solution to this problem is to make more and more people aware about climate change and make them involved in the decision making process. This should start with electing people who are pro green. We need various means and mechanisms to make people aware and get them engaged to fight anti environmental policies.A lot needs to be done.
